"The House Committee on Natural Resources approved the "No More Parks" bill -- which threatens Muir Woods, Giant Sequoia, and other iconic landmarks.
"This bill is a handout to the Trump administration’s fossil fuel backers:
*It guts the Antiquities Act, eliminating protections for beloved places like Giant Sequoia, Grand Teton -- and Muir Woods, created by President Teddy Roosevelt to honor Sierra Club founder John Muir.
It creates a legal mechanism for presidents to reduce a monument -- which we know Trump would put to work immediately -- carving up sacred indigenous sites, breathtaking plateaus, and waters critical to biodiversity and handing them over to his oil and gas cronies.*"
