What has this to do with environmental politics? The way we govern ourselves or the way we are governed by some "other" group has a lot to do with the way we view the world. 21st century decisions evolve from 19th century events. Americans have been insulated by distance and national power from the consequences of their decisions for some time. Our insulation is fraying.
