Fire-fighting foams used in airports, in particular, are dangerous formulations of PFOA-type chemicals. Water-proofing solutions, sprays, etc. also contain PFOAs, varieties of PFAS that might possibly be less toxic, but we collectively don't know the extent of the risks associated with their use.
Current studies reveal that 98% of us have detectable quantities of PFAS chemicals in our bodies. NO, you are most likely NOT among the lucky 2%!
If you live near an airport, you have been exposed. If you fight fires or have been a victim of fire, you have been exposed. If you have waterproof clothing, or have been using waterproofing products, you have likely been exposed. If you drink water, you probably have ingested this poison.
Additional reading on PFOAs is found on Wikipedia [ http://bit.ly/WikipediaPFOAs ]. PFOS, a related chemical, is discussed on [ http://bit.ly/WikipediaPFOS ]
Anticipating the withdrawl of the 2016 EPA advisory on PFOAs in water supplies, I have placed it in another location: [ http://bit.ly/EPAwaterAdvisoryPFOA ] Please let me know if you have trouble viewing this link. Thanks!
