River divers.
ReplyDeleteI avoid such people because Everytime I encounter one I have to resist the urge to shoot them for shooting my friends.
ReplyDeleteAlso changes on local levels is not evidence for global level events.
On a similar note. When ships were fitted with sensors to watch the temperature of ocean water world wild. It was found over a 15 year period absolutely no change. This has been called by some a "pause".
SilverStar Heggisist Your point about local variations is well taken. Changes in multiple locations across the globe are good evidence. For instance, I was surprised to learn that April 2018 set another warmth record globally because my region was much colder than normal. Enough other weather stations worldwide, however, had high enough temperatures to boost the Earth's average temperature above normal.
ReplyDeleteYour first statement reminds me of the movie "Crocodile Dundee," when the hero dons a sheepskin and shoots back at hunters trying to make an illegal kill. On the other hand, the observations of hunters and fishermen are warning us city-dwellers that the natural world is behaving strangely. We might not notice otherwise.
Weakening ocean currents and strengthening hurricanes have been observed, even with "pauses" in the rise of average sea water temperatures. Evidently sea temperatures are not rising uniformly across the globe.
Jeff Diver I do not live in the city. And the last time I was in a major city I was driving over the sidewalks that were in my way with my truck. So I don't do cities.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing also commonly ignored is the far more impactful solar output which fluctuates constantly.
