They still die, sooner or later, and I think their post vehicle value and use is being exaggerated by the article.
ReplyDeleteThey already are exaggerating in their comparisons with Alkaloid batteries and the Flashlight to Remote silliness that they present as true. It isn't.
Unless you really want to keep replacing your remote as old Alkaloids LEAK withing a few weeks of being discharged from my experience. I've had to toss otherwise perfectly good flashlights and remotes from this experience, as they destroy the contacts and at times the wiring in the device.
Joseph Teller Good points. This technology has a ways to go, for sure! Brushing residue off contacts in gadgets has not always worked for me, either. Fortunately, none of my lithium batteries has caught fire so far, but that's also a possibility with current products. I await improvements! And, meanwhile, recycle what I can.
