Maybe because we do not visit glaciers all that often.
Maybe because we do not visit glaciers all that often... Maybe because hurricanes and blizzards are seasonal. Perhaps because we're (pardon me) old and think it will not happen fast enough to influence our lives. Denial is also a normal reaction to new, frightening experiences. Our nagging feeling that we cannot or will not cope with this issue globally due to tribal (racial, ethnic) instincts that no longer serve us well may also contribute. Those are my initial thoughts.
